Bourns has added a 0.1 mΩ ultra-low resistance option to its current sensing resistors

August 24, 2026 - Global leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, Bourns, announced the 

addition of 0.1 mΩ ultra-low resistance models to the CSS2H-5930 and CSI2H-5930 series, further expanding the 

product selection for high current precision sensing applications. The new models feature an electronic beam 

welding (EB) metal strip structure, combining low inductance and low thermal electromotive force (Thermal EMF) 

characteristics, which can support precise current measurement while reducing power loss.


For designers of battery-powered, power conversion, and high current control systems, continuously improving 

system efficiency while reducing heat generation and maintaining measurement accuracy remains an important 

challenge. In these applications, excessive voltage drop of sensing components may reduce system efficiency and 

increase the complexity of thermal management.


The new 0.1 mΩ models from Bourns effectively address these design requirements while maintaining a 15 W 

power rating and low inductance characteristics. The CSS2H-5930 series, specifically the CSS2H-5930R-L100x 

model, complies with AEC-Q200 specifications and has vehicle-grade certification, meeting the reliability and 

stability requirements of demanding automotive applications.


Current sensing circuits in automotive and industrial power systems typically require extremely low resistance to 

reduce power dissipation while maintaining accurate measurement capabilities. "Bourns' resistor product line 

manager, Walter Garcia, said. "The addition of 0.1 mΩ resistance values to the CSS2H-5930 and CSI2H-5930 series

 provides more design options for high current applications with a 15 W power rating, low inductance, and long-

term stability. The CSS2H series also offers models compliant with AEC-Q200 specifications and vehicle-grade 

certification.
