NXP Semiconductors has launched cloud-based AI development tools, which simplify the development of agent AI and accelerate the deployment of edge AI.
NXP Semiconductors N.V. has officially launched a set of cloud-based artificial intelligence development tools, aiming to simplify the development process of Agentic AI and accelerate the deployment and implementation of edge-end artificial intelligence.
This series of tools was unveiled during the 2026 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026). The first tool is named eIQ AI Hub. It will integrate the eIQ intelligent body AI framework developed by NXP into its AI development toolkit, and expand the functions of the existing Generative AI Flow, adding support for edge-end intelligent body AI development.
The second tool is the eIQ AI toolkit. Engineers can use this tool to obtain the necessary development components immediately, enabling faster prototype development while maintaining the flexibility of local deployment. This toolkit consists of three core modules: eIQ Time Series Studio, eIQ GenAI Flow, and eIQ Intelligent Agent AI Framework. It supports both cloud access and local download for use.
NXP stated that the final core tool, eIQ Intelligent Body AI Framework, is specifically designed for edge scenarios. Through the development capabilities of agent AI workflows tailored for edge environments, it can enable autonomous decision-making functions at the edge.
What is an agent AI (Agentic AI)?
Unlike generative AI that requires users to input instructions, agent AI enables the system to make decisions and perform operations autonomously based on real-time data.
Deploying intelligent agents at the edge enables seamless task execution without any delay, such as triggering security alerts, adjusting device control parameters, and other complex workflows.
Charles Dachs, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Security Connected Edge Business at NXP Semiconductors, said: "Agent AI will become the core foundation of the next generation of adaptive, context-aware systems, covering applications in areas such as healthcare, robotics, and manufacturing. With the new features brought by eIQ AI Hub, we are not only providing the tools themselves, but also creating a complete platform for developers, helping them build intelligent, secure, and responsive agent AI and generative AI systems at the edge."
