Vishay's dual-channel Wilkinson power divider/suppressor enhances efficiency and saves space in high-frequency connection applications.
Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock symbol: VSH) announced the launch of a new dual-channel Wilkinson power divider/synthesizer - WLKN-000, aiming to enhance efficiency and save space in aerospace and high-frequency connection applications. The Vishay Sfernice WLKN-000 has a wide operating frequency range, covering 15 GHz to 20 GHz, and is packaged in an integrated surface mount design. It can achieve industry-leading insertion loss of less than 0.5 dB in the frequency range below 19 GHz.
The recently released device supports a wide frequency range, with an echo loss of 10 dB to 15 dB. This not only simplifies the system design but also reduces the required external components, thereby saving board space and lowering costs. Its compact 1817 package integrates a three-port solution and supports both splitter and combiner functions, simplifying the layout. The device's low insertion loss can minimize power consumption in the signal path, thereby improving system efficiency.
Unlike narrowband or resistance-based solutions, the WLKN-000 offers high output-to-output isolation, with a value of less than 20 dB at the center frequency. This significantly reduces crosstalk, protects downstream amplifiers during signal merging, and ensures stable performance on parallel RF paths. Moreover, this device provides excellent matching characteristics throughout its operating frequency range.
The wide temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C ensures that this product can maintain reliable performance in a variety of demanding applications. These applications include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for automobiles and radio transceivers; low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and base station terminals; 5G/6G connections; unmanned aircraft; payload systems; data link arrays; and phased array radar systems.
WLKN-000 is manufactured using thin-film technology and complies with RoHS standards, is halogen-free, and meets Vishay's green standards. This device can be customized according to customer specifications such as frequency band, return loss, insertion loss, and housing size. The HFSS encrypted model is also available.
The WLKN-000 product is now available in samples and has achieved mass production. The delivery cycle is 20 weeks.
